Position Details
Post: Assistant Technical Consultant (Pharmacist)
Location: BHEL Electronics Division (EDN), Bengaluru
Number of Positions: 01
Period of Engagement: Initially for 2 years, extendable by 1 year at a time or till completion of assignment (whichever is earlier). The maximum tenure is 5 years or up to 65 years of age (whichever is earlier).
Job Responsibilities
The Assistant Technical Consultant will assist and guide BHEL in the following areas:
- Procurement of medicines through rate contracts.
- Issuance of medicines to BHEL/EDN beneficiaries.
- Conducting regular and periodic medical check-ups for employees above 40 years and their spouses, and for workers in hazardous areas.
- Assisting doctors in scrutiny of bills from empanelled hospitals/labs/doctors and employees (serving and retired).
- Entry and record maintenance of bills received from empanelled entities.
- Maintenance of stock registers for medicines.
- Compliance with statutory obligations related to bio-medical waste, ambulance, and paramedical staff contracts.
- Maintenance of pharmacy software for medicine accountability.
- Coordination with empanelled hospitals, labs, clinics, pharmacies, and medicine manufacturers.
- Overall management of the Occupational Health Centre (OHC).
Eligibility Criteria
a) Age Limit (as on 01.11.2025):
- Not more than 63 years.
- Applicants retired under VRS will be considered only after attaining 60 years.
- For Ex-Servicemen, engagement duration shall be up to 5 years or till 65 years of age (whichever is earlier).
b) Educational Qualification:
- Full-time Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or higher qualification.
c) Experience (as on 01.11.2025):
- Minimum 20 years of work experience in the field of pharmacy.
d) Eligible Applicants:
- Retired employees (Artisan level or above) from PSUs/Autonomous Organizations/Central or State Government/Statutory Bodies.
Selection Process
Applications will be scrutinized by a committee. Shortlisted candidates may be called for an interaction/interview before a duly constituted Selection Board.
- Travel Reimbursement: AC-II Tier train fare or equivalent by road (as applicable) for outside candidates called for interaction.
Remuneration
- Consolidated Fee: ₹40,000/- per month
- Additional Allowances:
- Mobile phone expenses up to ₹2,000/- (one connection)
- House Rent Allowance as per applicable rates
- Transport allowance @10% of consultancy fee
- TA/DA admissible on official tours as per BHEL policy
