Essential Qualifications
- Educational Qualification:
- At least 2nd Class Master’s Degree in Forensic Science / Chemistry / Biochemistry / M.Sc. / M.Pharm from a recognized university.
- Experience:
- Minimum three years’ post-M.Sc./M.S./M.Pharm experience in research training and analytical work in one of the above subjects, duly certified by the Research Supervisor or Head of Department/Organization.
- Note: Research work done during Ph.D. shall be counted towards experience.
- Desirable Qualification:
- Knowledge of customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment under local conditions.
Selection Procedure
- If number of applicants ≤ 6× number of posts: Candidates will be called directly for Personality Test.
- Otherwise, selection will include:
- Paper-I: Computer Based Test (CBT) / Offline Screening Test (Objective Type) – 100 Marks
- General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh – 30 Marks
- National & International Affairs – 30 Marks
- Knowledge of Hindi – 20 Marks
- Knowledge of English – 20 Marks
(Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong/blank answer)
- Paper-II: Subject Aptitude Test (Descriptive) – 120 Marks (3 hours)
- Personality Test: For shortlisted candidates based on merit.

Important Instructions

- Candidates already in Government service must inform their Head of Office and produce No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of Personality Test.

- Bonafide Himachali & Category certificates (if applicable)
- EWS/BPL certificate (if applicable)
- Applications without requisite documents or fee will be rejected.
- All disputes are subject to Court jurisdiction at Shimla.
