1. Education & Subject Knowledge
HR checks if you’ve really understood your degree (B.Pharm, M.Pharm, M.Sc, etc.), not just passed it.
Know your basics:
- Pharmaceutics: Tablet making, excipients
- Pharmacology: Drug actions
- Chemistry: Synthesis, structures
- Analysis: HPLC, UV, Dissolution
Be ready to answer:
“What is bioavailability?” or “What happens in dissolution test?”
2. Basic Practical Skills
You don’t need full lab experience, but HR expects you to know tools like:
✔️ HPLC, UV Spectrophotometer
✔️ pH meter, Dissolution test
✔️ SOPs & GMP basics
Even a short training or exposure adds value.
3. Internships & Projects Help
Have you:
Done an industrial visit or 2-week internship?
Worked on a formulation or analysis project?
Completed any certificate courses (e.g., HPLC, PV, RA)?
That shows you’re serious about industry learning.
4. Soft Skills & Attitude Matter Too
HR values freshers who are:
Good at communication (reports, emails)
Punctual & disciplined (follow timelines & SOPs)
Team players (listen, learn, adjust)
Willing to learn (genuine curiosity > perfect answers)
5. Career Vision = Big Bonus
HR asks:
- Why did you choose pharma?
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
- What department do you like (QA, QC, RA, etc.)?
A clear answer shows you’re focused and not just job-hunting.
Example:
“I’m interested in QA because I’m detail-oriented. I want to grow into a validation or audit role.”
Tip:
HR doesn’t expect you to be perfect.
They just want someone who:
✔️ Knows the basics
✔️ Is ready to learn
✔️ Has a positive attitude
✔️ Shows genuine career interest
